Uma Racing Engine Oil
Get smoother engine performance with Uma Racing Full Synthetic Engine Oil.
The NGK Laser Iridium Spark Plug (CR9EIA-9) is a premium, tier-one ignition component engineered to deliver maximum performance, combustion efficiency, and operational longevity. It serves as an elite original equipment manufacturer (OEM) replacement for high-RPM sportbikes, naked performance bikes, and high-displacement touring motorcycles.
Featuring a dual-precious-metal configuration, the Laser Iridium series represents NGK’s highest standard of spark plug development. It is explicitly designed to maximize fuel efficiency, stabilize idling smooth response, and resist electrical erosion under extreme combustion chamber pressures.
Manufacturing Heritage: This premium ignition component is Made in Japan, precision-engineered under strict quality controls to guarantee flawless structural durability and unmatched ignition accuracy.
Key Features
-
Laser-Welded Iridium Fine-Wire Center Electrode: Equipped with an ultra-fine 0.6mm iridium tip. This precise, high-density precious metal has an extremely high melting point. The minimal tip diameter concentrates the electrical voltage, requiring substantially less ignition energy to form a spark while maximizing flame kernel expansion.
-
Platinum Ground Electrode Surface: Features a laser-welded platinum chip attached to the underside of the ground strap. The dual-precious-metal configuration (Iridium center + Platinum ground) ensures virtually zero gap degradation over tens of thousands of kilometers, maintaining rock-solid ignition timing throughout the plug’s service life.
-
Corrosion-Resistant Trivalent Metal Plating: The outer steel shell is treated with a specialized trivalent metal chemical plating. This coating provides continuous anti-seizing shield protection against moisture and high-heat oxidation, eliminating the need to use messy anti-seize compounds during thread installation.
-
Corrugated Rib Anti-Flashover Isolation: The high-purity alumina silicate ceramic insulator body is shaped with specialized structural ribs. This physical geometry lengthens the physical path electricity must travel, preventing high-voltage current from bypassing the plug core and “shorting out” (flashing over) down the outside of the plug shell.
-
Triple-Gasket Fluid-Tight Seal: Manufactured with a robust internal copper glass core seal that bonds the center electrode and insulator together. This multi-layer inner matrix blocks combustion gases from leaking past the internal threads, maintaining uniform cylinder compression ratios.

Installation Guidelines
To prevent cracking the delicate internal ceramic insulator or stripping your engine cylinder head’s aluminum spark plug threads, apply this strict mechanical replacement sequence:
1.Clear the Spark Plug Well: 10 min.
Before removing your old spark plugs, utilize compressed air or a high-pressure air duster to blow out any loose sand, gravel, or road grit trapped inside the deep cylinder head spark plug tunnels. This prevents debris from falling into the open combustion chamber.
2.Verify the Factory Electrode Gap: 5 min.
The CR9EIA-9 arrives pre-gapped from the factory at exactly 0.9mm. Warning: Do not use a mechanical coin-style ramp gap tool to adjust the spacing. Dropping or forcing a tool against the center electrode can fracture or snap the ultra-fragile 0.6mm iridium tip instantly.
3.Hand-Thread the Shell Housing: 5 min.
Drop the new spark plug into a dedicated magnetic 16mm spark plug socket extension. Lower it carefully into the well and thread it in clockwise entirely by hand until the lower crush washer seals softly against the engine seat. If you feel binding or resistance, stop immediately and back it out to prevent cross-threading.
4.Apply Final Torque Specification: 10 min.
Attach your torque wrench to the socket extension. For 10mm threads screwing into a cast-aluminum motorcycle cylinder head, torque the plug precisely to 10 to 12 Nm (7.2 to 8.7 ft-lbs). If a torque wrench is unavailable, tighten the plug an additional 1/2 turn (180°) past hand-tight to collapse the sealing washer.
