RCB Flow S Dual Shock Absorber (305mm) is a premium, gas-charged rear suspension system engineered to transform the handling, comfort, and stability of high-performance maxi-scooters.

This 305mm length variant is designed as a direct plug-and-play upgrade for the Yamaha Aerox 155 (NVX 155) V1/V2, and acts as a specialized lower-profile stance adjustment for the Yamaha NMAX 155 (V1/V2). Combining an external nitrogen gas reservoir with fine-tuned mechanical adjustments, the Flow S series replaces harsh, bouncy factory ride characteristics with progressive, road-hugging dampening.

Key Features

  • External Nitrogen Gas Piggyback Reservoir: Features a pressurized external piggyback tank filled with nitrogen gas. This architecture keeps the internal damper oil under constant pressure, completely preventing fluid aeration (foaming) during rapid, repetitive bumps to eliminate suspension fade.

  • Threaded Spring Preload Adjustability: Equipped with an adjustable collar ring along the shock body. By tightening or loosening the spring with the included spanner wrench, you can adjust the spring preload to perfectly match your specific payload, whether riding solo, with a passenger, or carrying heavy touring luggage.

  • High-Flux Internal Piston Architecture: Engineered with a specialized internal valving stack that reacts dynamically to road surfaces. It provides plush, compliant dampening over small city potholes while tightening up instantly during high-speed cornering to eliminate rear-end chassis wobble.

  • Premium Monotube Alloy Cylinder: The main damper body is CNC-machined from high-tensile aluminum alloy, optimizing heat dissipation to keep dampening oil at its ideal operating temperature during aggressive summer riding.

  • Stance Tuning & Universal Fitment Base: Shipped with interchangeable mounting bushings, allowing a secure fit across the upper and lower mounting perches of the Aerox and NMAX subframes without modifying factory hardware.

Important Fitment & Stance Calibration

  • For Yamaha Aerox V1 / V2: This 305mm length matches your scooter’s factory standard geometry exactly. It preserves the original sharp cornering lean angles, aggressive nose-down stance, and side-stand balance.

  • For Yamaha NMAX V1 / V2: The standard factory NMAX rear shock measures roughly 330mm. Installing this 305mm variant will safely lower your rear ride height by approximately 25mm (1 inch). This is a highly popular modification for shorter riders seeking a lower seat height to plant both feet flat on the ground at stoplights, giving the scooter a sleek, customized low-rider profile.

Installation Guidelines

  1. Support the Chassis Properly: Never attempt to replace your rear shocks while the scooter is resting on its side stand. Place the vehicle securely on its center stand and place a block underneath the rear tire to support the weight of the engine swingarm before removing the factory bolts.

  2. Verify Airbox and Fender Clearances: After bolting on the left-side shock, slowly compress the rear suspension by hand before riding. Ensure the external gas reservoir does not make structural contact with the aftermarket or OEM airbox assembly.

  3. Set Rider Sag (Preload): With your riding gear on, sit on the scooter in a normal riding position. The suspension should compress by roughly 20% to 25% of its total travel length. If the rear sags too low under your weight, turn the threaded collar downward to compress the spring and stiffen the initial load capacity.

  4. Apply Threadlocker to Mounts: High-displacement single-cylinder engines generate continuous vibrations. Always apply a drop of medium-strength blue threadlocker to the upper and lower shock mount bolts, torqueing them strictly to factory service manual specifications.
