The RCB Brake Hose Adapter is a specialized hardware component used when upgrading or customizing a hydraulic brake system. It acts as a bridge or “coupler” to allow the connection of brake hoses in configurations that the stock setup didn’t originally support.
These are most commonly used when switching from a single-line system to a dual-line setup or when the angle of the master cylinder requires a different hose orientation.
Key Features
-
T6 Aluminum Alloy: Machined from high-grade aluminum to ensure the adapter is lightweight but can handle the extreme internal pressure (PSI) of a hard braking maneuver.
-
Anodized Finish: RCB offers these in various colors (Red, Blue, Gold, Silver, Black) to match your bike’s aesthetic. The coating also prevents corrosion from exposure to brake fluid and road salt.
-
High-Pressure Seals: Designed to work perfectly with standard copper or aluminum crush washers to ensure a 100% leak-proof seal.
-
Universal Threading: Most RCB adapters use the standard M10 x 1.25mm or M10 x 1.0mm thread pitch found on the majority of Japanese and European motorcycles.

Why use an RCB Adapter?
-
Cleaner Routing: It helps keep your brake lines tucked away from moving parts or hot engine components.
-
Braided Hose Conversion: If you are building a custom length RCB Teflon Braided Hose, these adapters allow you to create the exact geometry needed for your specific bike frame.
-
Durability: Unlike cheap “unbranded” adapters, RCB units are tested for pressure stability, which is vital for a safety-critical component like your brakes.
Installation Safety Note
Brakes are a “Zero-Failure” System. When installing these adapters:
-
Use New Crush Washers: Never reuse old copper washers, as they deform once tightened. Always use fresh ones to prevent slow leaks.
-
Bleed the System: Any time you open the brake circuit to add an adapter, you must perform a full brake bleed to remove all air bubbles.
-
Torque Properly: Do not over-tighten, as you can strip the aluminum threads. Follow the manufacturer’s torque specs (usually between 20–25 Nm for banjo bolts).
FAQs
What does this adapter do?
It helps improve hose angle and routing between the brake hose and master pump.
Is it universal?
Many setups may fit, but always verify thread size and fitting compatibility first.
Why use an adapter?
Cleaner installation, less hose strain, and better visual finish.
