RCB E-Series Steel Braided Brake Hose (850mm) is a premium hydraulic upgrade designed to replace standard factory rubber brake lines.

Part of RCB’s highly reliable E-Series, this 850mm (85cm) universal hose is typically sized for front brake systems on most naked street bikes, small-to-medium displacement sportbikes, scooters, and underbone motorcycles. It is also commonly used as an extended rear brake line on custom stretched bikes or long-wheelbase scooters.

Key Features

  • Zero-Expansion Stainless Steel Braiding: Constructed with a high-density, woven stainless steel outer mesh that encases a heavy-duty Teflon (PTFE) inner core tube. Unlike stock rubber hoses that balloon and expand under high pressure, this braided shield eliminates volumetric expansion—delivering maximum hydraulic force directly to the caliper pistons.

  • Crisp, Immediate Braking Response: By preventing line expansion, it transforms a “mushy” or spongy lever feel into a firm, highly communicative, and immediate stopping response with significantly shorter lever travel.

  • Anti-Friction Protective PVC Jacket: Wrapped in a smooth, clear or tinted PVC outer sleeve. This protective layer prevents the abrasive steel braiding from scratching your motorcycle’s front forks, fairings, or painted plastics during suspension compression.

  • Premium Corrosion-Resistant Banjos: Equipped with robust, heavy-duty banjo fittings at both ends, engineered to withstand high torque loads and provide a permanent leak-free seal under extreme racing pressures.

  • True Universal Application: Designed with standard 10mm ($M10$) banjo eyelets at common entry angles, allowing it to easily bolt onto OEM or aftermarket master cylinders and brake calipers across almost all motorcycle brands (Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, etc.).

Installation Guidelines

  1. Verify Length Through Full Travel: Before tightening, route the 850mm hose along your front forks to ensure it fits comfortably. Crucial Safety Step: Put the bike on a front paddock stand to completely extend the front forks and turn the handlebars fully from lock to lock. The hose must not pull taut or bind at any point.

  2. Always Replace Crush Washers: The kit relies on copper or aluminum crush washers to form a hydraulic seal. Never reuse old, compressed factory washers; always install fresh washers on both sides of the banjo fitting to prevent dangerous fluid leaks.

  3. Torque Safely: Tighten the banjo bolts to your motorcycle manufacturer’s recommended torque specifications (typically between 20 to 25 Nm). Over-tightening can strip the threads inside aluminum calipers or snap the hollow banjo bolt.

  4. Complete System Bleed: Disconnecting the brake lines introduces massive amounts of air into the hydraulic system. Refill your reservoir with fresh DOT 4 fluid and perform a thorough brake bleeding process until all trapped air bubbles are completely purged and the lever feels rock-solid.
