Beyond the massive upgrade in pillion grip, they function as a matching styling piece that ties together other CNC components on your bike—like your levers, engine covers, or axle sliders.

Installation Guidelines

  1. Reuse Factory Pivot Hardware: This kit includes the alloy footstep blades. When removing your old stock pegs, be careful not to lose the factory pivot pins, small steel detent ball, spring, and cotter pins/E-clips, as you will reuse them to lock the new RCB steps in place.

  2. Grease the Detent Ball: Place a small dab of waterproof lithium grease into the spring pocket and on the steel detent ball during reassembly. This ensures a satisfying, smooth “click” action when folding the pegs up or down.

  3. Check Clevis Clearance: Yamaha brackets can occasionally vary by fractions of a millimeter due to factory paint thickness. If the fit is tight, do not force it; lightly sand the inner paint layer of your factory bracket or smooth the peg base for a smooth pivot fit.

  4. Secure the Cotter Pin: Always ensure the split cotter pin or E-clip is completely bent or locked open on the bottom of the main pivot pin. If this loose clip backs out while riding, the pivot pin can slide out, causing the footpeg to drop off the motorcycle.
