The RCB 428R X-Ring Chain (132L) is a professional-grade drive chain designed for high-performance motorcycles. While standard chains use simple metal-on-metal links, the 428RX utilizes X-Ring technology, which provides a superior internal lubrication seal compared to both standard and O-Ring chains.
With 132 links (132L), this chain offers a generous length that fits almost all modern 150cc–200cc motorcycles, including those with extended swingarms or larger rear sprockets.
Key Features
-
Advanced X-Ring Seals: Unlike a standard O-Ring which has two contact points, the X-Ring has four. This “X” shape creates a double-seal effect that traps specialized grease inside the chain pins while keeping dirt, water, and grit out.
-
Reduced Friction: The X-Ring design reduces the “pinching” effect found in O-Rings, resulting in lower drag. This means more horsepower actually reaches your rear wheel instead of being lost to internal chain resistance.
-
Superior Tensile Strength: Constructed from high-alloy steel with reinforced plates, the 428RX is built to handle the high-torque loads of modified engines, such as those equipped with UMA 63mm/65mm Bore Up kits.
-
Pre-Stretched & Heat-Treated: Each chain is factory pre-stretched to minimize the “initial stretch” that occurs during the first few hundred kilometers. The pins are induction-hardened to resist wear and elongation.
-
Gold Finish Coating: Typically finished in a premium gold coating that provides excellent corrosion resistance against rain and road salt while giving your bike a high-end “racing” aesthetic.

Why Choose X-Ring over O-Ring?
-
Longevity: An X-Ring chain typically lasts 1.5x to 2x longer than a standard O-Ring chain because the four contact points provide a much better barrier against the elements.
-
Maintenance Intervals: Because the internal lubrication is so well-protected, you don’t need to adjust the chain tension as frequently as you would with a standard “non-sealed” chain.
-
Fuel Efficiency: Lower friction in the drivetrain leads to smoother cruising and marginally better fuel economy over long-distance touring.
Installation & Maintenance Tip
When installing the 428RX 132L on a standard bike like the R15 V3 (which usually takes 128 links), you will need a chain breaker tool to remove the extra 4 links for a perfect fit. Never use a clip-type master link from a different brand; always use the RCB master link included in the box. To maintain the X-Ring seals, use only “O-Ring Safe” chain cleaners—avoid using gasoline or harsh degreasers which can swell and destroy the rubber seals.
