Installation Guidelines

Because these grips are engineered for a tight friction fit to prevent spinning or slipping while riding, they can be stubborn to install dry. Follow these simple steps for a seamless installation:

1. Clean the Levers Thoroughly: Wipe down your current brake and clutch lever blades with isopropyl alcohol to remove all traces of grease, dirt, or old adhesive.

2. Use a Lubricant Catalyst: Do not use grease or WD-40, as they will permanently lubricate the rubber and cause the grips to slip dangerously during use. Instead, spray the inside of the LG55 sleeves and the surface of your levers with soapy water, rubbing alcohol, or a mist of hairspray.

3. Twist and Slide: While the catalyst is wet, firmly push and twist the LG55 sleeve onto the lever blade until it seats fully into your preferred position.

4. Allow Proper Drying Time: Let the levers sit for several hours (ideally overnight). Once the alcohol or water evaporates—or the hairspray sets—the rubber will shrink-lock onto the metal, creating a rock-solid, non-slip bond.
