RCB Flow Pro Dual Shock Absorber (305mm) is an advanced, race-engineered gas suspension system that builds upon the success of the standard Flow series. It is specifically optimized to bring ultra-smooth, high-fidelity handling to maxi-scooters.

Finished in a stealthy Premium Black styling palette, this 305mm version serves as a direct factory-height replacement for the Yamaha Aerox 155 V1/V2 (NVX 155), and functions as an excellent lowered, performance-oriented tuning layout for the Yamaha NMAX 155. Armed with dual tuning parameters—rebound clickers and threaded preload—the Flow Pro completely eliminates loose rear-end swaying to deliver a firm, confident connection to the road.

Key Features

  • Fine-Tuned Rebound Adjustment: Unlike basic gas shocks, the Flow Pro features an indexed mechanical click wheel at the lower base. This allows you to meticulously adjust how fast the shock extends back up after hitting bumps, giving you the power to dial out the bouncy, unstable “pogo-stick” motion common to standard factory setups.

  • Pressed Nitrogen Gas Reservoir: Outfitted with an external piggyback canister system. By using an internal bladder barrier to isolate the high-pressure nitrogen gas from the internal damper fluid, it eliminates oil aeration and foaming (cavitation) to prevent suspension fade during aggressive track riding or long summer road trips.

  • Infinite Threaded Spring Preload: Built with precision-machined threaded collars flanking the main body. Utilizing the included adjustment tools, you can easily alter the spring tension to balance the suspension’s mechanical sag against your body weight or passenger payload.

  • CNC-Machined Monotube Hard-Alloy Casing: The top mounting base, internal cartridge cylinder, and bottom clevis are sculpted from high-strength billet aluminum. This setup reduces overall unsprung weight while acting as a highly efficient heat sink to maintain optimal internal oil viscosity.

  • Progressive Coil Configuration: Wrapped in high-tensile, progressive-rate springs designed to stay exceptionally compliant over tiny urban surface ripples, while tightening up progressively deep in the stroke to handle severe pothole impacts without bottoming out.

Important Fitment Dynamics

  • Yamaha Aerox V1 / V2 (NVX 155): At 305mm, this setup perfectly matches your scooter’s original factory shock length. It retains the quick, aggressive front-end steering geometry, standard side-stand lean angles, and maximum cornering lean clearance.

  • Yamaha NMAX 155: Factory NMAX rear shocks sit taller at roughly 330mm. Bolting on this 305mm Flow Pro assembly drops the rear subframe ride height by 25mm (approximately 1 inch). This popular modification lowers your center of gravity for stable tracking at cruising speed and allows shorter riders to comfortably plant both feet flat on the ground at a stop.

Installation Guidelines

  1. Chassis Unloading: Park the vehicle securely on its center stand on flat ground. Slide a solid block under the rear tire to support the engine swingarm casing before unbolting the stock upper and lower mounting hardware.

  2. Clearance Verification: After installing the left-side shock, physically compress the suspension before riding. Check that the upper external nitrogen gas tank maintains full structural clearance away from the factory or aftermarket airbox housing throughout the entire travel stroke.

  3. Tuning the Rebound Clicker: Turn the dial at the base fully to the right (clockwise) to find your absolute stiffest baseline setting. Then, click it back out (counter-clockwise) 10 to 14 clicks to use as a smooth starting point for street riding. Stiffer click profiles stabilize high-speed cornering, while softer clicks cushion harsh urban pavement.

  4. Symmetrical Alignment: Use a precise caliper tool to verify that the threaded spring collars on both the left and right shocks are set to the exact same millimeter height. Mismatched rear settings can lead to uneven chassis twisting and rapid tire wear under load.
