RCB VD Series Dual Shock Absorber (305mm) sits at the absolute pinnacle of RCB’s V-Series suspension lineup. Engineered specifically for the Yamaha Aerox 155 V1/V2 (NVX 155), the VD Series is a true race-grade system that offers independent adjustments for both spring preload and rebound damping.
Finished in an eye-catching, premium Red/Gold (RD/GL) colorway, this 305mm standard-height variant delivers track-level chassis control, high-speed cornering stability, and premium vibration isolation for aggressive street and circuit riding.
Key Features
Independent Rebound Damping Adjustment: Unlike lower-tier gas shocks, the VD Series features a dedicated rotary click-dial at the base of the shaft. This allows you to fine-tune the speed at which the shock extends (rebound) after a bump, eliminating rear-end “pogo-stick” bouncing and keeping your tire perfectly glued to the asphalt.
Pressurized Nitrogen Gas Piggyback Tank: Outfitted with a signature gold-anodized external reservoir. It utilizes an internal floating piston to separate high-pressure nitrogen gas from the damping oil, preventing fluid cavitation (foaming) and maintaining fade-free dampening during intensive track sessions or hot summer commutes.
Threaded Mechanical Spring Preload: Features fine-threaded adjustment rings on the shock body. Using the included spanner wrench, you can compress or relax the spring to perfectly calibrate the suspension’s sag based on your body weight or passenger load.
Billet Aluminum Monotube Construction: The entire structural body, upper mount, and lower clevis are CNC-machined from high-grade billet aluminum alloy. This provides superior structural rigidity under heavy lateral flex while acting as an efficient heat sink for the internal oil.
Interchangeable Spare Spring Kit: Shipped directly with an additional set of softer/stiffer progressive coil springs, giving you the freedom to completely overhaul the shock’s base load profile to suit your riding style.

Understanding the Adjustment
As highlighted in the system profile above, the VD series separates itself visually and mechanically through its multi-tier tuning knobs. The gold-plated external piggyback reservoirs mount securely upward, ensuring complete structural clearance away from your scooter’s rear tire hugger, fairing edges, and custom airbox configurations during deep suspension cycles.
Stance & Ride Dynamics
At 305mm, this shock matches the standard factory suspension length for both generations of the Yamaha Aerox 155.
Preserved Geometry: It maintains the maxi-scooter’s stock steering rake and trail, preserving its aggressive turn-in agility and nimble lane-filtering characteristics.
Anti-Squat Control: By tuning the rebound clicker, you can dial in an optimal amount of resistance to minimize rear-end “squatting” during hard throttle roll-ons, delivering much crisper power delivery to the rear wheel.
Installation Guidelines
Chassis Support: Park your Aerox on its center stand on flat ground. Place a support block underneath the rear tire to hold the weight of the engine swingarm assembly before removing the factory upper and lower bolts.
Thread Protection & Torque: Apply a single drop of medium-strength blue threadlocker to the mounting bolt threads. Torque them firmly to factory service manual specifications—over-tightening can bind the shock mount rubber bushings and cause premature wear.
Tuning the Rebound Dial: Turn the bottom click-adjuster all the way to the right (clockwise) until it stops to set it to the stiffest baseline. Then, click it back out (counter-clockwise) roughly 8 to 12 clicks as a starting point for casual street riding. Stiffer settings (fewer clicks out) stabilize high-speed cornering, while softer settings (more clicks out) absorb rough urban potholes.
Equal Adjustment Check: Always use a digital caliper or a precision ruler to ensure that the threaded preload collars and the rebound clickers on both the left and right shocks are adjusted to the exact same millimeter height and click position. Mismatched rear settings will induce uneven chassis twisting under load.
