Product Description

RCB Flow Pro Dual Shock Absorber (395mm) is an elite, top-tier suspension system engineered specifically for the adventurous chassis of the Honda ADV160 (and ADV150). Representing RCB’s latest high-end developments in scooter suspension, the Flow Pro series bridges the gap between rugged off-road capability and razor-sharp street tracking.

Finished in the highly sought-after Premium Black Edition, this system ditches flashy accent colors for an ultra-clean, stealthy matte and gloss black layout. It features an external piggyback reservoir tank paired with true full-spectrum damping adjustability, turning your scooter into a machine capable of flattening harsh city pavement and loose dirt trails alike.

Key Features

  • Triple-Adjustment Calibration (Full Clicker Control): The defining feature of the Flow Pro series is its comprehensive adjustability. It features separate, tactile clickers managing Spring Preload, Rebound Damping, and Compression Damping. This allows you to calibrate the speed at which the shock compresses under hits and how quickly it extends back out.

  • External Piggyback Gas Reservoir: Equipped with a high-capacity reservoir tank filled with high-pressure nitrogen gas. By isolating the gas chamber from the main body, the fluid stays cooler, expanding your damping consistency and eliminating shock fade during aggressive, long-distance touring.

  • Heavy-Duty 35mm Internal Piston: The oversized 35mm internal damping piston provides a massive surface area for fluid dynamics. This yields incredible low-speed stability when cornering hard, combined with rapid, high-speed damping response over sharp speed bumps or potholes.

  • Forged Alloy Top Mounts & 14mm Shaft: Built using a high-density forged aluminum top mounting eyelet for maximum structural integrity. The induction-hardened 14mm steel piston rod is optimized to withstand extreme lateral loads, common when traversing rough gravel or carrying heavy luggage.

  • Progressive Performance Spring: Wound with a variable pitch configuration. The top coils easily soak up minor road ripples for a plush, comfortable ride, while the stiffer bottom coils prevent harsh frame bottoming during deep structural ruts or off-road drops.

Tactical Tuning Strategy

To maximize the massive performance envelope of the Flow Pro clicker adjustments, apply this baseline tuning logic to your daily riding environment:

  • For Smooth Highway Commuting: Back off the compression clicker counter-clockwise (softer) by 2–3 clicks and keep the rebound near the middle setting. This allows the rear tire to trace pavement imperfections effortlessly, delivering a plush, luxury touring experience.

  • For Aggressive Twisties / High Speed: Stiffen the compression damping clockwise by 3–4 clicks to limit body roll and rear-end squatting under hard acceleration. Increase rebound stiffness slightly to keep the rear tire firmly planted against the pavement through mid-corner transitions.

  • For Rough Dirt / Gravel Trails: Leave compression at a moderate setting to absorb bigger hits, but open up the rebound setting (turn counter-clockwise toward fast). This allows the 14mm piston rod to extend rapidly between closely spaced ruts, preventing the suspension from packing down and running out of usable travel.

Installation Guidelines

  1. Secure Center Support: Place the Honda ADV160 on its factory center stand over solid, level ground. Secure the front wheel or brace the engine cases so that the rear tire floats just barely off the ground to relieve tension on the factory shock bolts.

  2. Clear Body Panels: Carefully remove the rear grab rails or side fairing trim pieces according to your factory workshop manual to gain unobstructed wrench access to the upper 12mm mounting bolts.

  3. Torque to Factory Specification: Coat the mounting bolt shoulders with a thin layer of weather-resistant grease. Slide the Flow Pro mounts home, thread the nuts by hand, and torque to your vehicle’s factory specification. Ensure the piggyback reservoir tanks point backward away from the inner engine shroud.

  4. Set Rider Sag First: Put on your typical riding gear (including your helmet) and sit on the scooter. The suspension should compress roughly 25mm to 30mm under your weight. If it compresses too much, use the included spanner to thread the locking collar downward to increase spring preload before touching any damping clickers.
