Get the Combo set for the ultimate brake system upgrade.
RCB S2 Series Dual Shock Absorber (305mm) is a high-quality, oil-damped suspension upgrade designed to provide a more stable and controlled ride compared to standard factory shocks.
Perfect for daily commuting and spirited street riding, this 305mm variant is a direct factory-height replacement for the Yamaha Aerox 155 (NVX 155) V1/V2, and serves as a performance-oriented lowering option for the Yamaha NMAX 155.
Key Features
-
Precision Manual Spring Preload: Equipped with a threaded adjustment collar, the S2 Series allows you to manually tighten or loosen the spring tension. This ensures you can calibrate the suspension to your specific weight or accommodate a passenger, preventing the “bottoming out” common with stock setups.
-
High-Pressure Oil Damping: Unlike basic OEM shocks that rely on simple springs, the S2 uses a high-performance oil-damped internal cartridge. This provides consistent, predictable compression and rebound characteristics, effectively soaking up road vibrations and small potholes.
-
Heavy-Duty Alloy Construction: The main body and mounting points are CNC-machined from high-tensile aluminum alloy. This construction is lighter than steel, resistant to corrosion, and features a sleek, minimalist aesthetic that complements any scooter build.
-
Progressive Spring Rate: The coil springs are engineered with a progressive rate, meaning they remain soft and comfortable during normal city riding but become progressively stiffer as they compress, providing a safety buffer during hard bumps.
-
Factory-Spec Geometry: With a 305mm eye-to-eye length, these shocks maintain your scooter’s original geometry—keeping your steering angle and center stand functionality exactly as Yamaha intended.

Fitment Guide:
-
For Yamaha Aerox (NVX 155): This is a direct plug-and-play replacement that maintains the “nose-down” aggressive stance of the Aerox. It provides a significant upgrade in handling without needing any modifications to your bodywork.
-
For Yamaha NMAX 155: The stock NMAX rear shocks are approximately 330mm tall. Installing this 305mm S2 set will lower the rear of your NMAX by roughly 25mm (1 inch). This is a popular “lowered” look that helps shorter riders reach the ground more easily and provides a sleeker, custom profile.
Installation Guidelines
-
Secure the Scooter: Place your scooter on its center stand on a flat, stable surface. To prevent the engine block from dropping when you remove the bolts, place a block of wood or a jack under the rear tire.
-
Clean the Mounting Points: Before installing the new RCB shocks, wipe the upper and lower mounting bolts and chassis perches clean. Apply a tiny dab of grease to the mounting studs to prevent seizing.
-
Threadlock & Torque: Always apply a drop of blue (medium-strength) threadlocker to the mounting bolts. Tighten the bolts to the factory torque specifications found in your owner’s manual—over-tightening can crush the internal rubber bushings.
-
Calibrate Your Preload: With the included spanner wrench, turn the threaded collar to compress the spring until the scooter sags about 20-25% of the total shock travel when you are sitting on it. Ensure both the left and right shocks are set to the exact same thread count to avoid uneven handling.
