RCB Apex Pro Steering Damper (80mm) is a high-performance mechanical stabilizer designed to enhance motorcycle handling by suppressing unpredictable handlebar oscillations. This essential safety component is engineered to prevent “tank-slappers” and high-speed wobbles, providing the rider with a more planted, controlled feel during aggressive cornering or high-velocity straightaways.

The 80mm stroke version is the compact choice within the Apex lineup, ideal for small-to-medium displacement motorcycles where space around the triple clamp and fuel tank is at a premium.

Installation Guidelines

1. Mounting Brackets: This is a universal damper unit. To install it on your specific motorcycle model, you will require a dedicated mounting bracket kit (sold separately) designed to fit your bike’s frame and triple clamp.

2. Clearance Check: After installation, slowly turn the handlebars from full-left to full-right lock. Ensure the damper body does not contact the fuel tank, fairings, or instruments, and that the piston does not “bottom out” before the steering hits its factory stops.

3. Correct Alignment: The damper rod must be perfectly aligned with the bracket’s pivot points. Any vertical or horizontal misalignment will cause side-loading on the seals, leading to premature hydraulic fluid leaks.

4. Seal Care: Keep the gold/chrome piston rod clean of road grime and debris. A quick wipe with a soft cloth after a ride will prevent grit from damaging the high-pressure oil seals.
