Chain Collection
Upgrade your ride with premium RCB chains engineered for smoother power delivery, durability, and racing performance.
RCB V3 Auto Chain Tensioner (50mm) is a heavy-duty universal suspension component engineered to maintain optimal mechanical drive-chain tension automatically.
As part of RCB’s highly successful V3 Series, this tensioner clamps securely onto your motorcycle’s swingarm. It utilizes a high-tension spring system to continuously apply upward pressure against the bottom run of your drive chain, eliminating loose chain slap, reducing wear on your sprockets, and preventing dangerous chain derailments.
Key Features
-
Continuous Automatic Adjustments: Built with an internal heavy-duty torsion spring that dynamically adapts to your rear suspension travel. As your swingarm moves up and down over bumps, the tensioner self-adjusts to take up slack instantly.
-
50mm High-Density Polyurethane Roller: Features an ultra-wide, heavy-duty 50mm roller guide wheel. This specialized polymer material is highly resistant to friction, oil degradation, and heat, absorbing chain noise while preventing metal-on-metal wear.
-
Dual Internal Ball Bearings: The 50mm roller spins on high-precision, shielded ball bearings. This configuration ensures smooth, frictionless rotation under heavy throttle loads, minimizing parasitic drag on your engine’s power output.
-
Universal 50mm Swingarm Fitment: Outfitted with a versatile clamp assembly designed to fit box-section swingarms with a profile height up to 50mm. It is a highly popular upgrade for underbones, naked bikes, and dual-sport models.
-
Rugged CNC Alloy Base: The main structural arm is machined from high-tensile billet aluminum alloy, ensuring that the assembly will not bend, flex, or twist out of alignment under extreme riding or racing conditions.

Why Install an Automatic Tensioner?
Over time, drive chains naturally stretch and develop slack, leading to a noisy, rough drivetrain and a delayed throttle response. In extreme cases, an excessively loose chain can skip teeth on the sprocket or throw itself off the wheel entirely, causing severe engine casing or swingarm damage. The RCB V3 Auto Chain Tensioner bridges the gap between manual adjustment intervals, ensuring your chain stays locked in its sweet spot during everyday acceleration and braking cycles.
Installation Guidelines
-
Determine Optimal Placement: Position the tensioner clamp on the lower run of your swingarm, roughly midway between the engine sprocket and the rear wheel axle. Ensure the roller is aligned perfectly parallel with the chain line before tightening.
-
Protect Your Swingarm Paint: Before securing the metal bracket, wrap a thin layer of rubber strip or heavy-duty electrical tape around your swingarm. This prevents the metal clamp from scratching your swingarm’s powder coat and adds extra grip to prevent the tensioner from sliding over time.
-
Check Spring Pre-Load Direction: Make sure the tensioner is oriented so that the spring forces the roller upward against the bottom of the chain. It should lift the slack, not push down on it.
-
Routine Lubrication: While the internal bearings are sealed, spraying a small amount of chain lube on the outer roller faces during your normal chain maintenance routine keeps the assembly operating quietly and spinning effortlessly.
